Exploring Potential in Personal Development

Little drummer boy

Do you remember what it was like to be so lost in something that you … well, just got completely lost in it? So ‘in the moment’ that you couldn’t care less what anyone else thought of you, or what you were doing? It’s an amazing, outrageous feeling, almost a state of ecstacy. We’ve lost it, most of us, long ago. And so long, for many of us, that we barely remember what it felt like. The reason why is because life gets in the way. We get too busy. We get too involved in too many things. We get too concerned trying to make a living, trying to look good, trying to be popular, to ‘fit in’. We try so, so hard, and it gets in the way and stops us just being ourselves.

Pssst, wanna remember what it was like? Want a taste of that life affirming sensation of just totally losing yourself in a pleasurable few moments of sheer, unembarrassed self expression? The short video below can give you that taste. It can make you feel young again, and uncaring of other people’s judgements and opinions. It will make you smile, I can promise you that. And it will take you back to a time when everything, regardless of what it was called, was actually play.

WARNING: This isn’t an exciting video 🙁 The little boy in it isn’t doing anything particularly unusual (unless you count performing on stage with an orchestra at three years of age as unusual!). There’s no car crashes, no stunts. Nobody gets killed. Aliens play no part in this whole thing. And there’s no hint of a conspiracy theory, or a hidden agenda. There’s no serial killers or FBI agents. No politicians on the make, no startling revelations, and no sex scandal. Nothing much really … There’s just a little boy. And all he does is play the drums. Sorry if you were expecting something ‘exciting’ :/

But hey, on the other hand, this is a few minutes that will make you smile, take you back to a childlike innocence and sense of freedom, and make you wonder how life got so complicated. And that can’t be bad, can it? And who’d have thought we could learn so much from a little three-year-old playing the drums? Amazing!

Sheer, joyful, abandon, unrestrained and unselfconscious. Absolutely love it!
