Gratitude … a gentle reminder

April 18, 2015 Ken 0 Comments

I saw this beautiful video and I thought I really must share it. It says so much about gratitude, and so much more eloquently that I ever could (and don’t worry, it’s only a few minutes long).

Gratitude is our way of saying to the Universe that we deeply appreciate everything that is given to us. It’s a truly amazing emotion. Feeling true gratitude for the simple things in life gives us an immediate connection to the very source of all that is. Whether you like to call that God, or Allah, or Spirit, or the Universe, or Nature, or something else entirely, it really makes no difference. Whatever we call it, it was there way before we ever were, and long before we ever tried to pin a name on it.

The more we cultivate a sense of gratitude, and a sense of wonder, the more calm and peaceful we become. And the more good things we attract into our lives. And possibly the greatest obstacle to this happening is taking it all for granted and feeling jaded with life, and with the world. Once we do that we’re settling into a rut, and I’m sure you’ve heard the old saying that the only difference between a rut and a grave is the depth.

Make gratitude a habit. Even if only for just a few minutes each day, focus on it. Stop for a while and allow yourself to experience a deep sense of wonder at the grandeur of life, and of the world. See it all with fresh eyes. It will benefit you so much!

Can you imagine the difference it would make if thousands and thousands more people, worldwide, started to do this? The effect would be staggering. So please, feel free to share this online, either through Facebook or some other social network, or your own blog or website, or any other way you can think of.

And have a great day. Because it is, after all, a very special day (like all the others!) ;)
